Digital Photography (Fundus Photography)

Taking digital retinal images allows your eye doctor to evaluate the health of the back of your eye, which is also called the retina. The pictures allow the doctor to get a clear view of the retina, as well as the optic nerve and other structures inside

the eye. The doctor will evaluate the digital images and then save them to be used as a baseline to track any changes in your eyes in future examinations.  This is critical for early-detection of many ocular diseases.
Retinal photography also allows for the doctor to easily consult with other specialists should the need arise.
